Egalitarianism is a big idea about fairness. It is a way of thinking about social equality. Many people believe all humans have the same worth. This means everyone should have the same rights.

This idea helps people get fair chances. It means everyone gets the same tools to succeed. This includes things like education and resources. Some people focus on equality of outcome. This means they want fair results for whole groups. Others focus on equality of opportunity. This means everyone starts at the same place.

Different groups use these ideas in many ways. Feminism uses it to focus on gender equality. Some thinkers say we should care for animals too. They believe we should not exploit them.

Many religions also talk about these ideas. In Buddhism, the Buddha taught that birth does not make a person better. He said good actions matter most. In Islam, the Quran says people are made into tribes to know one another. It says the most noble person is the most righteous. Some Christians use holy verses to argue for human rights. They believe all people are one. These ideas help people dream of a fair world.
