They call themselves al-Muwaḥḥidūn, which means \"Unitarians.\" This name shows they believe in the absolute unity of one God. Their faith is a mix of many different ideas from history. It includes parts of Christianity, Gnosticism, and other ancient traditions. They believe the soul is eternal and lives on forever. One of their main ideas is reincarnation, which is the cycle of being born again. They believe souls eventually reunite with a great Cosmic Mind.

\n\nLife in the Druze community is often divided into two different paths. Some people are known as uqqāl, or spiritual individuals. These people hold the secret teachings and deep knowledge of the faith. Other people are called juhhāl, which means they are secular. These members focus more on worldly matters and daily life.

Most religious practices are kept secret from the outside world. Because of this, outsiders are not allowed to join the religion. Even marriage between a Druze and someone of a different faith is very rare.

\n\nThe history of the faith began in Egypt over a thousand years ago. It grew around the years 1017 and 1018. A scholar named Hamza ibn Ali was a very important leader. He taught a doctrine that focused on the oneness of God. Another man named Muhammad bin Ismail Nashtakin ad-Darazi was also an early preacher. He caused some trouble and disagreement within the group. Because of him, the name \"Druze\" became how people identify the community.
