Many fish live in these cold waters. There is also a huge underwater waterfall here. It is called the Denmark Strait cataract. It is the largest one known in the world. It flows down the western side of the strait. In 1941, a big battle happened here. It was called the Battle of the Denmark Strait. This took place during World War II.
