Native Americans lived here a long time ago. Groups like the Assateague lived on the coast. Later, people from Europe came to the area. They built colonies in the 1600s. This led to many changes for the land and its people.

Today, many people live in Delmarva. About 818,014 people lived there in 2020. Many people work on farms or go fishing. Some people visit the many beaches.
