Engineers use computers to help them build things. This is called computer-aided engineering, or CAE.

CAE tools help experts study many things. One way is finite element analysis, or FEA. This helps study stress on parts. Engineers also use CFD to study how fluids flow. They can also study how many parts move together. This is called multibody dynamics. These tools help make cars safer and stronger. They also help save time and money.

There are three main steps in a CAE task. First is pre-processing. This is when the engineer sets up a model. Next is the analysis solver. A powerful computer does the hard math. Last is post-processing. This is when the engineer looks at the results.

Engineers still do physical tests. They do this to check their work. They want to make sure the computer was right. New tools now use artificial intelligence. This helps the computer make even better guesses. This makes the work faster and more real.
