Clive Palmer is a famous businessman from Australia. He was born on March 26, 1954, in Melbourne. His family moved to Queensland when he was young. He grew up mostly on the Gold Coast. His father, George, was a travel agent and ran a broadcasting station. Clive studied law and politics at the University of Queensland. He did not finish his degree, but he later earned a Diploma of Law.

Palmer became very wealthy through many different businesses. He worked as a real estate agent in the 1980s. He retired from that job at age 29. Later, he started mining companies like Mineralogy and Waratah Coal. These companies look for iron ore, nickel, and coal. He also owns several large resorts and golf courses. One resort is the Palmer Coolum Resort on the Sunshine Coast.

His business life has included many big legal battles. He often uses lawyers to fight for his interests in court. In 2016, his company Queensland Nickel went into a process called voluntary administration. This meant the company could not pay its debts. Many workers lost their jobs during this time. Palmer initially said he was not responsible for their pay. However, he reached a settlement in 2019 to pay back money to workers and the government.

Palmer has also tried many unique and bold projects. In 2013, he opened a dinosaur park called Palmersaurus at his resort. The park used over 160 animatronic dinosaurs, including a tall T. rex named "Jeff." He also owned a soccer team called Gold Coast United FC. In 2012, the football group revoked his license for breaking rules. Palmer then started his own group called Football Australia.

One of his most famous ideas is the Titanic II. This would be a modern ship that looks like the original Titanic. He wants it to carry 2,435 passengers and 900 crew members. The project has faced many delays over the years. He once said the COVID-19 pandemic stopped the plans. In March 2024, he said he wanted to start building it soon. He is a very rich man, ranked fifth richest in Australia in 2025.
