In the past, music was used in schools. In England, singing became a required part of school. By the early 1900s, many school plays were made. Some songs were even written for the new record industry. The first words ever recorded in 1860 were from a French song. It was called "Au Clair de la Lune." Later, records sold Mother Goose nursery rhymes.

Disney films also made big music for kids. Movies like "Snow White" had famous songs. In the 1960s, shows like "Sesame Street" became very popular. This show has won 11 Grammy Awards. Today, many kids find music on tablets or phones. Some songs on YouTube have over one billion views!
