The tree has a very interesting look. The trunk is smooth and light in color. It is covered in a thick white wax. This wax comes from the tree itself. You can see dark rings around the trunk. These rings are marks left by old leaves. The leaves are long and dark green or grayish. They have a stem called a petiole. The fruit is round and turns orange-red when ripe.
