He is best known for his Disney comic books. He made the first stories about Donald Duck. He also created Scrooge McDuck, a very rich character. Barks created many other people, too. These include Gladstone Gander and the Beagle Boys. He even made a place called Duckburg.

Before he was a star, Carl worked many hard jobs. He was a farmer, a cowboy, and a printer. These jobs taught him about life. He saw how people can be stubborn or funny. He used these ideas in his art. Donald Duck's many jobs were based on Carl's own life. Scrooge McDuck was different. Scrooge used hard work and grit to become rich.
