These stories first appeared in newspapers in 1930. The Mickey Mouse strip was the very first one. It told long stories about Mickey. He was a brave mouse who loved adventure. Some stories also had new characters. One was the Phantom Blot. Another was Mickey's nephews, Morty and Ferdie.

Later, Disney made many other types of comics. Some were called Silly Symphony strips. These were based on short films. They featured characters like Bucky Bug and Pluto. There was also a strip called Treasury of Classic Tales. It told stories from movies like Peter Pan and Lady and the Tramp.

In the United States, these comics are less popular now. But they are still huge in other places. In Europe, Disney magazines are best sellers. People love reading about these classic friends. They even study these comics in school!
