Carcassonne is a fun board game for two to five players.

It is named after a famous walled town in France. In this game, players build a medieval land together. You do this by drawing and placing square tiles. Each tile shows part of a road, a city, or a field. You must match the edges of the tiles as you play. Roads must connect to roads, and cities must connect to cities.

You can also place small markers called meeple on the tiles. These meeple help you claim parts of the land. A meeple on a road is a thief. A meeple in a city is a knight. A meeple in a cloister, or a small church, is a monk. A meeple in a field is a farmer.

When you finish a feature, you earn points. A city is finished when it has no more open edges. A road is finished if it forms a loop or hits a village. A cloister is finished when it is surrounded by eight tiles. The game ends when all tiles are gone. The player with the most points wins!
