She was a sex-positive feminist, which means she supported the right to explore sexuality. Royalle wanted to show a female point of view in a world that often ignored it. She believed that films could be made for women and couples, not just for men. Her work helped people understand healthy and realistic ways to be close. Many therapists and counselors even praised her films for being helpful.

Her career followed a very interesting path.

First, she was a performer in about 25 traditional adult movies. She acted in films like Hot & Saucy Pizza Girls and Blue Magic. Later, she decided to become a director and producer instead. In 1984, she started a company called Femme Productions with Lauren Neimi. They made films that focused on female desire and emotional lives. These movies did not just focus on one goal or a single ending. Instead, they showed sex within the context of real social lives.

Royalle had a very creative background from a young age.
