Its agricultural success is a key part of its identity.

The climate in Buraidah is a hot desert climate. Scientists use the Köppen climate classification BWh to describe it. This means the summers are long and extremely hot. The winters are short and very mild. There is very little precipitation, which is another word for rain. Most of the rain falls between November and May. This leaves the summer months extremely dry. Because of this, managing water is very important for the city.

This project supports the Saudi Green Initiative. That initiative aims to plant 10 billion trees through a national program. These tree-planting projects help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
