When the two-piece swimsuit became a new fashion, she made hundreds of them. As a photographer, she used a special tool called fill flash. This helped her lighten dark shadows when the sun was very bright. She was also one of the first to use natural light while shooting outdoors.

Her journey began in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, where she was born in 1929. Her family moved to Florida when she was 17 years old. She went to the Coronet Modeling School and Agency to learn about modeling. She won many local beauty pageants in Miami, such as Queen of Miami. In 1953, she started taking night classes at a vocational school. She wanted to learn photography to save money by copying her own photos.

Yeager became a professional photographer in 1954. Her first big success was a photo of Maria Stinger. That picture was even used for the cover of Eye magazine. She worked very closely with a famous model named Bettie Page. Yeager took more than 1,000 pictures of Page during their time together. She also took famous photos for Playboy magazine. She photographed many different women for the magazine, including Lisa Winters and Myrna Weber.

She even took the famous shots of Ursula Andress in the movie Dr. No.

Yeager's impact on the world of art is still felt today. Her many books have sold over one million copies to readers. Many famous artists, like Diane Arbus, were influenced by her work. Her photos have been shown in many museums, including The Andy Warhol Museum. Even today, people can visit a special lounge named after her in Berlin. She lived a very busy life as a creator and an author. She passed away in North Florida in 2014 at the age of 85.
