Brownie Wise was a famous American saleswoman. She helped make the Tupperware company very successful. She used a special way to sell things called the party plan. This meant people held parties at home to see the products.

At these parties, she showed how the containers worked. She even threw them to show they were strong. This helped many people want to buy them. She was a leader who knew how to talk to customers.

Wise worked hard to grow the business through demonstrations. She urged her dealers to show how the items worked. In 1949, she had 19 dealers working with her in Detroit. That same year, her team sold over $150,000 worth of Tupperware. This was more than any store sold at that time. Because of this success, she moved to Florida to sell there. She started a company called Patio Parties in Fort Lauderdale.

Earl Tupper was the founder of Tupperware. He invited Brownie Wise to be vice president in 1951. Wise suggested a big change for the company. She said Tupperware should not be sold in stores. Instead, it should only be sold using the party plan. Sales grew very fast after this change happened. In 1952, sales were over $2 million. This was much higher than the year before.

Wise was a very busy and successful leader. In 1954, she organized big events called Jubilees. These were annual meetings for the best saleswomen. One Jubilee had a Wild West theme. People even dug for prizes like jewelry or televisions. That same year, she was the first woman on the cover of BusinessWeek. She also wrote for a magazine called Tupperware Sparks. In 1957, she published her own book about her life.

Things became difficult for Wise later on. Earl Tupper fired her from the company in 1958. She tried to start a new makeup company called Cinderella International. However, that business closed down in less than a year. She later worked in real estate and as a ceramist. Brownie Wise died on September 24, 1992, in Florida. In 2016, a park was named Brownie Wise Park in Osceola County.
