A bridge circuit is a way to set up electric paths.

It has two main paths. A third path joins them in the middle. This third path is called a bridge. This setup helps us measure things very well.

One famous type is the Wheatstone bridge. Samuel Hunter Christie invented it. Later, Charles Wheatstone made it popular. It uses four resistors. A resistor is a part that resists electric flow.

To use it, you connect a battery to the circuit. You also use a galvanometer. A galvanometer is a tool that measures electric current. You change one resistor until the tool reads zero. Now you can find the value of an unknown resistor. You do this by comparing the parts.

Bridge circuits do many jobs. They can help change electric current. This is called rectification. This turns current into a steady flow. Some circuits, called H-bridges, help motors turn. They control which way a motor spins. These tools are used in many machines.
