It started in the United Kingdom. The show follows a man named Bob. Bob is a general contractor. This means he manages building work. He has a team of talking machines. These machines are living vehicles. They help Bob with many jobs. They do repairs and build new things. Bob works with his friend Wendy. They live in a place called Bobsville. Later, they visit Sunflower Valley. They also go to Fixham Harbour.

Bob has a special catchphrase. He asks, "Can we fix it?" His team always answers, "Yes we can!" This is also the name of their theme song. The song was a huge hit in the UK. The show teaches kids how to work together. It also teaches how to solve problems. Most of the show used stop-motion. This is a way to make moving pictures with models. Later, the show used CGI. This is computer animation. CGI lets the team do even bigger building jobs. The show is now seen in over thirty countries. It has been translated into many languages.
