Bibliography is the study of books and other written works. It can mean two different things. One way is making a list of books. This is called enumerative bibliography. These lists help people find more things to read. They might list books by their author or by a topic.

The other way is studying books as physical objects. This is called descriptive bibliography. People in this field look at how a book was made. They study the paper and the ink. They look at the binding, which is the cover that holds pages together. They even look at the art and the type used for letters.

Some experts use a tool called analytical bibliography. This helps them find a book's history. They want to see how a book was printed and sent to readers. This work is part of library science. A man named Paul Otlet helped start this field.

Today, people study more than just books. They also study videos, websites, and even music recordings.
