technology Maturity 7-9 Next article →

The Banpo Bridge is a large bridge in Seoul, South Korea.

It crosses the Han River. This bridge is very special because it has two levels. The top level is for cars. The bottom level is the Jamsu Bridge. This lower bridge is for people to walk on.

The Banpo Bridge was finished in 1982. It was built to help with traffic.

The bridge is famous for a water show. We call this the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. It has 380 nozzles, which are small holes that spray water. It also has 38 water pumps.

The show uses lights, projectors, and music. It happens five or six times each day. This is from April to October. The show only happens if the weather is good. This bridge holds a Guinness World Record. It is the longest fountain bridge in the world.

The Jamsu Bridge below is also interesting. It is built low to the water. If there is a lot of rain, the bridge goes under the water. It can also host markets with food trucks.
