Badgers eat many different things. This way of eating is called being an omnivore. They eat earthworms, insects, and fruit. Some species, like the honey badger, eat snakes and honey. They may even climb trees to find food.

Badgers have strong jaws. Their jaw bones connect to deep holes in their skulls. This helps them have a very strong bite. This also stops their jaws from popping out of place.

Most badgers are active at night. They are called nocturnal. They have black faces with white marks. Their bodies are often grey with a light stripe. Some badgers are very small. Others are quite large.
