Many different groups were attacking the borders of the land. There were also many revolts happening inside the empire itself. Aurelian worked very hard to fix these huge problems. He won many important battles to bring the lands back together. Because he saved the empire, people gave him a special title. They called him the "Restorer of the World."

To understand his success, we can look at how he led. Aurelian was a skilled military leader who knew how to use soldiers. He was very good at leading the cavalry, which are soldiers on horses. He used these fast horse troops to chase and stop enemies. For example, he used his cavalry to fight the Goths in the Balkans. He also used his troops to win back lost provinces. In the east, he conquered the Palmyrene Empire in 273. Later, he conquered the Gallic Empire in the west. This helped him reunite the entire Roman Empire.
