Our bodies need air to live. We breathe air in and out. Sometimes, it is hard to get enough air. This can happen if something blocks our nose or mouth.

This can happen if we are underwater. It can also happen in thick smoke. Sometimes, a person might choke on food. This blocks the path for the air.

Other things can make breathing hard too. A heavy weight can press on the chest. This stops the lungs from growing big. It stops the body from getting air.

When the body does not get air, it can get very sick. It can even lead to death. It is important to get help fast.

We must always try to breathe well. This helps us stay strong and healthy.
