Asgard is the home of the Æsir gods. It is a walled city. Many stories say it is made of gold.

Inside the city, there are many special places. One is Valhalla. Another is a meeting place called Iðavöllr. There is also a high seat called Hlidskjálf. When Odin sits there, he can see everything in the world. The gods also built a hall called Glaðsheimr. It looks like gold on the inside and the outside.

Where is Asgard? People have different ideas. Some old texts say it is a city in Asia. They even say it was once the city of Troy. Other stories say it is not a real place on a map. They say it is in the sky or over the sea. A rainbow bridge named Bifröst connects the earth to Asgard. The gods use this bridge to travel.

Thor is a famous god. One name for him is the Defender of Asgard. He uses his hammer to keep the city safe. Even after big changes in the world, some gods will meet in Asgard again.
