Odin chooses these warriors every day. The hall is very special. Its roof is made of shields. The rafters are made of spear shafts. Benches in the hall are covered with coats of mail.

In the hall, there is a large cauldron. A goat named Heiðrún drinks from a tree. She fills the cauldron with a drink called mead. A hart named Eikthyrnir also stands there.

The warriors in Valhalla prepare for a big event. This event is called Ragnarök. It is a great battle at the end of the world. During this time, the heroes will march out of many doors. They will fight to help Odin against the jötnar. These stories come from old books like the Poetic Edda. Many people still find these tales interesting today.
