Arg-e Bam is a very large fort in Iran.

It is made of adobe. Adobe is a type of brick made from sun-dried clay. This fort was likely the largest adobe building in the world.

This place has a very long history. It may go back to the Achaemenid Empire. Long ago, it was a busy place for trade. It sat on the Silk Road. People went there to trade silk and cotton. The city also had many palm trees and busy markets.

In 2003, a big earthquake hit the area. The quake was very strong. It destroyed much of the fort and the city. Many people lost their homes. It was a very sad time.

After the quake, the leader of Iran said they would fix it. Workers began to rebuild the citadel. Today, it is a special site for the whole world to see.
