In the 1500s, people looked for new sea routes. They wanted to find a way to reach Asia. This was called the Northwest Passage. It goes through the Arctic near North America. Many sailors tried to find it. Martin Frobisher took three trips to the Canadian Arctic. Henry Hudson also sailed near Hudson Bay to look for it.
