Some say Anna tried to take power from him. This plan did not work. Because of this, Anna had to live in a monastery. This is a quiet place for religious life.

Anna spent her time there writing. She wrote a big book called the Alexiad. This book tells the story of her father's rule. It is a very important book for history. It helps us learn about the early Crusades too.
