Alice Bailey was a prolific writer who explored many spiritual ideas.

She is often credited as one of the first people to use the term "New Age." Her work covers a huge range of topics. She wrote about how spirituality connects to the Solar System. She also wrote about meditation, healing, and spiritual psychology. Some of her books even look at the destiny of whole nations. Her ideas helped shape how many people think about modern spirituality today.

Bailey described her writing process in a very unique way. She claimed her work was telepathically dictated to her. This means she believed a wise teacher sent her ideas through her mind. She called this teacher "the Tibetan" or "Djwal Khul."

These teachings are often called the "Ageless Wisdom." They include ideas about how the soul and the personality work together. She believed that true healing happens when the soul and the body are in balance.

Bailey's life journey took her across the world. She was born in Manchester, England, in 1880. When she was fifteen, she met a stranger in a turban. He told her she needed self-control for future work. Later, she moved to the United States in 1907. She worked in a sardine cannery to support her three children.

In 1917, she joined the Theosophical Society. This group was a major part of her early spiritual life.

Many specific details define her unique system of thought. She wrote about "seven rays" of energy that exist throughout the universe.

These rays are seen as creative forces behind all things. She also taught about esoteric astrology to explain how souls evolve. In 1922, she and her husband, Foster Bailey, founded the Lucis Trust. This organization includes the Arcane School, which teaches meditation through mail. They also created the "Triangles," which are small groups that meditate together.

Her influence can still be felt in many places. One famous example is a mantra called the Great Invocation.

Bailey gave this prayer to the world in 1937. It is a way for people to call for light and love. Even Eleanor Roosevelt once recited it over the radio. Today, many people in the New Age movement use this prayer during meditation. Her work continues to connect people to ideas about a unified global society.
