She was born in England. Later, she moved to America. She wrote about 25 books. These books were about many things. She wrote about stars and healing. She also wrote about the soul. Some people say she helped start the New Age movement. This is a way of thinking about spirituality.

Bailey said a wise teacher told her these ideas. She called this teacher "the Tibetan." She said the ideas came to her through telepathy. This means she felt the ideas in her mind. She joined a group called the Theosophical Society. Later, she and her husband, Foster Bailey, started the Lucis Trust. This group helps people learn to meditate. One part of the group is the Arcane School. It teaches people through mail.

Bailey had many big ideas. She wrote about "seven rays." She said these are forces of power in the universe. She also wrote about how people can heal. She believed healing helps the soul and the body work together. Many people still use her words today. They use a prayer called the Great Invocation to find peace.
