Alan Berg was a famous talk radio host. He lived and worked in Denver, Colorado. He was known for his strong views. He often spoke about politics and social issues. Berg was also a lawyer in Chicago. He had a very bold way of talking on the radio. He would often argue with callers. This sometimes made people very angry.

Some people belonged to a group called The Order. This was a white supremacist group. They held many hateful ideas. They targeted people who were Jewish or had different views. Because of his Jewish faith and his ideas, Berg was targeted by this group. In June 1984, members of The Order killed him.
