It was a very big site in Japan. It was a textboard, which is a place for online talk. On this site, people post without using their real names. This is called anonymous posting. Nishimura liked this way of talking. He thought it helped people share ideas fairly. Without names, people focus on the argument instead of the person.

But the site had many problems. Some people used it to say mean things. This led to many lawsuits for libel, which is when someone says things that hurt a person's reputation. In 2013, a hacker stole private data. This leak showed the personal info of 74,000 users.

In 2014, the site split in two. A man named Jim Watkins took control of the main web address. Nishimura then made a new site called 2ch.sc. Now, different groups own the different sites. One version changed its name to 5channel. These sites remain very popular for many different topics.
