Some materials let electric charge move through them more easily than others. Metals such as copper usually conduct well. Dry plastic and rubber resist current strongly. Put each virtual sample into the same gap and compare the result. The drawing tests a property of the sample; its colour or shininess is not the rule.

Qualitative virtual sample comparison at fixed geometry; no household electrical testing.
What to look for
- Graphite is a conducting nonmetal
- Dry plastic resists current
- Appearance alone is not the test
Explain what you noticed
A wire has a copper core inside a dry-plastic jacket. Which part provides the main conducting path?
