Zamenga Batukezanga was a famous writer from Congo. He was born in 1933. His books explored African culture. Many people call him the most popular writer in his country.

Zamenga loved to help others. In 1977, he opened a center called Kikesa. This center helped young people with physical disabilities. He also worked with students. In 1984, he led a group for Congolese authors and publishers.

Later, Zamenga made a big choice. In 1986, he turned down a job at Unesco. He wanted to focus on his books. He also wanted to help poor people. He spent his last years in his home region.
