Yes Minister is a funny British TV show.

Administrative Affairs
Administrative Affairs

It tells a story about how the government works. The show follows Jim Hacker. He is a minister in a fake group called the Department of Administrative Affairs. Jim wants to make new rules and changes. However, the staff in his office want things to stay the same.

Sir Humphrey Appleby is the top staff member. He is a master of using very long and hard words. He uses these words to confuse Jim and stop his plans. Bernard Woolley is another worker. He often feels stuck between the two men.

The show was very popular. It was a big hit in the United States too. It won many BAFTA awards for its acting and writing. One part of the show is a sequel. It is called Yes, Prime Minister. In this part, Jim Hacker becomes the leader of the whole country. The show helps us see how much work happens behind closed doors. Most of the scenes take place in private offices rather than in Parliament.
