William played with his twin brother, Ernest. They won five doubles titles together. They even built a private court to practice. People called the rise of tennis the 'Renshaw Rush.' This was because they were so good. William was also a leader in the sport. He was the first president of the British Lawn Tennis Association. In 1983, he and his brother joined the International Tennis Hall of Fame. This is a special place for great players. William died in 1904 when he was 43. A street in Leamington Spa is named after the brothers today.
