Valuation (finance)

society Maturity 13-18 Next article →

People need to know what things are worth. This is called valuation. It helps people make good choices.

Experts use different ways to find a price. One way is to look at other things. They see what similar things cost to sell. This helps them make a smart guess.

Another way looks at the future. They guess how much money a thing will make. They also look at how much risk is there. More risk means people want more money back.

Some things are easy to price. You can see the price of a stock quickly. Other things are hard to price. A private shop might be hard to value.

Valuation is used for many tasks. It is used for taxes and for business deals. It helps people decide to buy or sell. It is a very useful tool.
