The ground is part of the Paraná Basin highlands. This landscape is covered by plants called the Cerrado. The soil in this region can be acidic and does not always have high fertility. You can see the different types of Cerrado plants across the wide landscape.

There are many wonderful places for people to visit today.

Uberlândia is a major municipality in Brazil.
The geography of the area is defined by the Paraná Basin. The landscape features the Southern Plateau subunit. This creates a highland environment with gently rolling hills. About 70% of the territory consists of this rolling terrain. The remaining 30% is flat land. The average elevation is 887 meters. The highest point is 930 meters at the Cachoeirinha Stream headwaters. The lowest point is 622 meters at the mouth of the Uberabinha River. The soil here is often acidic and has low fertility.
Water systems are essential to the life of the city.
The local environment is dominated by the Cerrado. This ecosystem includes various types of vegetation. You can find clean fields, dirty fields, and cerradões. There are also floodplain forests and riparian forests. In the western part, the vegetation changes to semideciduous forest. This happens where the soil is shallower. The city protects its nature through eleven Conservation Units. These units protect riparian forests along watercourses. These forests prevent siltation and erosion. They also help preserve the local flora and fauna.
The history of the region began with indigenous peoples.

As the city grew, its industries expanded quickly.
Today, Uberlândia is a place of culture and movement.
