Teleosauridae is a group of extinct sea reptiles. They lived during the Jurassic period. They looked a lot like modern gharials. Gharials are crocodiles with very long noses.

These animals lived in many places. Some lived in the deep ocean. Others lived near the coast. Some might have lived in fresh water too. They also lived on land.

There were different kinds in this group. Some had long snouts to catch fish. Others were generalists. This means they ate many different things.

Scientists study their bones to learn more. They found fossils in Europe and Asia. These fossils were found in places like England and China. They also found them in France and Thailand.

Teleosaurids were part of a larger group. This group is called thalattosuchians. They were related to other sea reptiles. Some were bigger than teleosaurids. But teleosaurids lived in more types of homes. They were very diverse animals.
