It comes in an egg-shaped toy. The name comes from two Japanese words. One word means "egg." The other means "watch."

This is because you can wear it like a watch.

In the game, you raise a tiny alien pet. It starts as an egg on your screen. You must care for it to help it grow. You can feed it meals like a hamburger. You can also play mini-games to keep it happy. If you give good care, your pet grows into a smart adult. If you do not clean up its mess, it might get sick.

Your pet goes through many stages. It moves from a baby to a child and a teen. Later, it becomes an adult. Some pets can even marry other pets!

Two players can link their toys together. This lets the pets become friends or start a family. This toy was first made in Japan in 1996. It became a very big hit all over the world.
