Many challenges in the show are very funny and tricky. Some tests involve falling into water or mud if you fail. In the Border Wall test, players climb a tall, soapy slope. They can use ropes to help them reach the top. In the Horse Race Challenge, players wear horse costumes and use rollerblades. They must race to a finish line while jumping over hurdles.

Other games use large items like giant bowling pins. In Star Bowling, players wear pin costumes with their ankles taped together. They must stay standing when a large foam ball rolls at them.

The show was filmed at Midoriyama Studios in Yokohama, Kanagawa. This campus had many man-made lakes and permanent obstacles.

Some games used many different tools and costumes. For example, the Heaven and Hell test uses a rope to swing over mud. In the Beach Boys and Gals game, players ride surfboards. They might even have to duck under a shark's mouth! The challenges were designed to be exciting to watch. Some games happened in almost every episode because they were so popular.

There are many interesting facts about the show's history. The original series had between 86 and 142 contestants in each episode. The final regular episode aired on 14 April 1989. Later, four special episodes were shown until 19 October 1990. A special live revival happened on 2 April 2005 for a big festival.
