Steppe

earth science Maturity 11-13 Next article →

A steppe is a big, flat land. It has lots of grass and small bushes.

There are not many trees here. Trees only grow near lakes or rivers.

This land is not a dry desert. But it is too dry for a forest. This is because it does not get much rain.

The weather can change a lot. It can be very hot in summer. It can be very cold in winter.

Some steppes are in the United States. Others are in places like Asia or Africa. These lands are very wide and open.
