sports Maturity 7-9 Next article →

A sports league is a group of teams. They play games against each other. Teams try to earn points. These points help find a winner.

Some leagues have a set schedule. This is called a season. Teams play at their own home field. They also play at other teams' fields.

In some leagues, teams can move. The best teams move up to a higher group. This is called promotion. The worst teams move down.

Other leagues stay the same. The same teams play every year. They might be split into small groups. These groups are called divisions.

Leagues make sports fun to watch. They help us see who is the best. Do you have a favorite team?
