Special relativity

Albert Einstein changed how we see the world. In 1905, he shared his theory called special relativity. This theory explains how space and time work together.

Einstein based his work on two main ideas. First, the laws of physics stay the same for everyone. This is true if you are moving at a steady speed. For example, things on a smooth train feel normal. Second, light always moves at the same speed. This is true no matter how fast you are moving.

These ideas lead to strange results. Time does not flow the same for everyone. Instead, time is local to each person. If you move very fast, your clock runs slower. This is called time dilation.

At normal speeds, we do not notice these changes. But near the speed of light, they are huge. Even distance can change for moving objects. This theory also shows that mass and energy are linked. It helps us understand how electricity and magnetism work together.
