Socinianism is a set of Christian beliefs. It started a long time ago. Two men helped make these ideas. They were uncle and nephew. Their names were Lelio and Fausto Sozzini.

These thinkers had many unique views. They did not believe in the Trinity. The Trinity is the idea of three parts of God. They also believed that Jesus was a man. They thought he did not exist before his birth.

Socinians had ideas about how people live. They believed that humans have free will. This means people can make their own choices. Because of this, they thought God does not know every single thing that might happen. They felt that knowing every possible future would take away our freedom.

These ideas spread to many places. People in Poland and England studied them. Many thinkers read their books. Some even used these ideas in their own work. Today, some Unitarian groups share these roots. It is a way of thinking that changed how many people saw faith and choice.
