Sneferu was a great builder. He built three large pyramids.

The first was at Meidum. It started with steps. Then workers added smooth stone. This made it look like a true pyramid.

Next, he built the Bent Pyramid at Dahshur.

This pyramid has a strange shape. The angle of the sides changes halfway up. This helped keep the structure stable.

His last project was the Red Pyramid.

It has a simpler design. It helped show new ways to build. These new ideas helped his son, Khufu. Khufu built the Great Pyramid at Giza. Sneferu ruled for many years. Some experts say he ruled for over 30 years.
