We use waves to send news.

These waves carry sounds and pictures. They travel through the air to you.

Sometimes waves need help. A message signal can be too low to travel. So, we put it on a bigger wave. This bigger wave is called a carrier.

We can send many things at once. One cable can carry many TV channels. Each channel uses a different wave. This way, they do not bump into each other.

A tool called a modulator makes these waves. At the end, a tool called a demodulator finds the message. This lets us hear the sound or see the picture.

It is like a fast, invisible road for information.
