A sentence is a group of words. It shares a thought with you.

Sentences can do many things. They can ask a question. They can give a command. They can also make a statement.

Sometimes a sentence is very long. Other times it is very short. Some sentences use only one word.

We use marks to show a sentence is done. We use a period or a question mark. This helps us read clearly.

Sentences help us share our ideas. They make our talking and writing work.
