Scientific Reports is a big journal for science. A journal is a place where scientists share new ideas. This one started in 2011. It covers many parts of the natural world. It is the largest journal of its kind in the world. It uses peer review to check its work. Peer review means other experts study a paper. They check if the work is sound and true. They do not care if the news is big. They only care if the steps are right. Sometimes, mistakes happen in the journal. Some papers had fake images. Other papers had stolen work. This is called plagiarism. When a mistake is found, the journal can retract a paper. To retract means to take the paper back. This tells everyone the work is not right. Some leaders left the journal because of these issues. They wanted to make sure the science stays good.
