Saw

technology Maturity 11-13 Next article →

A saw is a tool used to cut.

Saw blade

It has a hard edge with sharp teeth. These teeth can cut wood, metal, or stone. Long ago, people used shells or teeth to cut.

Later, people used copper and iron.

The teeth on a saw are not straight. They bend out to the sides. This makes the cut wider than the blade. Because of this, the saw does not get stuck.

You can use a saw by hand. You can also use power to move it. Saws help us build many things.
