It belonged to the ancient kingdom of Shu. People lived there a long time ago. They were great at making things from bronze. They also used gold and jade.

Archaeologists found many treasures in deep pits. They found large bronze masks and heads. Some masks have very big, bulging eyes.

Some people think these masks show a king named Cancong. He was a legendary leader of Shu. The people also made a huge bronze tree. It is nearly four meters tall!

This tree has birds and flowers on it. Most of these items were found in 1986. Workers found them by accident in pits. These pits held many broken items. The items were burned and buried with care. This might have been part of a ritual. A ritual is a special ceremony. Scientists are still studying these finds today. They help us learn how these people lived.
